Procrastinating... and Lovely Scarves

So all of today so far... and yesterday... and the day before... I have been procrastinating! Oh dear! (I should be working on AP US Govt.) I find that there's an endless array of creative blogs and Etsy shops that I have never seen, and there are more and more each day!

One in particular blog there is a giveaway~! It closes 12/30/10, so you hurry up if you'd like one!

It's a giveaway for one of these beautiful scarves from The Praire Sparrow in your choice of color :)

SALE - The Cowl with a Twist PINE

SALE - The Cowl with a Twist PINE
Which color is your favorite? I would have to say I am between Pine, Lemongrass, and Pumpkin. They're all so beautiful! Though if the world was perfect according to me... oh I'd have them one in each color!

Thanks to the lovely ladies at The Praire Sparrow and I go by Katie!

Songs I'm Crazy About - 12/27/10

So ever so often I will go crazy over a few songs, or at least have one or two stuck in my head :)

This weeks is a couple of songs.

Life is Beautiful by Vega 4 that I heard off of Disney's African Cats movie ad at the movies :) I've also heard it was used for My Sister's Keeper. Great movie btw, a real tear-jerker :'/ but I'm one of those people that generally likes those movies haha :)

I think it's a very good reminder, and a bit of a wake-up call to me (that will hopefully last). My favorite part is the chorus:
"Life is beautiful--
But it's complicated,
We barely make it
We don't need to understand
There are miracles...Miracles"
Summer's Gone by Aberfeldy got stuck in my head. I don't find it amazing, but it's kind of cute and it's a fun tune :) I heard this one off of this commercial. Honestly,  I love the commercial so much hahaha. My favorite is the zebra and the lion.
Yay, uke cover of the song! :D It's not me, but she's got a sweet voice, so :)

And now that you're here, is this not one of the most adorable cats you've ever seen?

My fav line? "Are you being cheeky?? Are you being a little bit cheeky?" Sweet little siamese :3

Hmm

Do you ever feel like a chair?

No of course not haha ;)

Unfortunately I have that feeling right now as Lilly and Toby are sitting on top of my legs

Our AC broke downstairs (might I add, it's RLY cold down there-- we're near the east coast, which just had a snowstorm) so the very friendly AC man is over

The weenies will NOT shut it >.< uyy

So in a protective manner, they decided to sit on me...

Which I'm starting to doubt cuz they just rotated and laid down... if it was once protective, it isn't anymore!

Me in my sheep Bath & Body Works Robe,
(very soft n_n)
Lilly on the left...

 And Toby on the right...

Whatever shall I do with you?
But what would I do without you?
:)

I Won't Look Back ♥

Well I finally finished the chords to this song! :D It sounds beautiful by itself, and is probably the closest you'll get to the song, which is pretty close.

(If you don't really care to hear me ramble, scroll to the bottom for the chords.)

Just real quick I'd like to reflect on the song a bit. Here's a link to the lyrics, if you're curious. Personally, I am one that is all about the lyrics. They make the song. I mean don't get me wrong, the music is what it's all about, the beat, the beauty of it. But I think the lyrics make it better :) The song starts off with a nice piano, just by itself, and soon the singer joins in.

Maybe it's just me, but there's something about a quiet voice and a piano that is super-sincere. Something about it makes it feel like it just gets to my soul.

Anyways, the song kind of talks about how love can be hard and difficult to try for fear of falling or being hurt, but if you're willing to take a chance, they are too.

So basically take chances on love. ♥

But on a side note... make sure they're a good choice ;) Haha, haven't we all had problems with that! I know I have for one. Maybe that's another reason why it kinda gets inside my skin. It kinda reminds me of past relationships (well... relationship, haha. I don't think middle school is a big love life-changer) that I've taken a chance on and that haven't worked out, but I took the jump and I learned.

I think that's the best thing. Yea you can jump, so first you have to decide if you're going to make the leap. Once you do, you have that period of time, however long it may be, that you feel like you're flying. You know, when it all seems unreal, or when that guy you like (or have started to date) tells you all these sweet things or does something for you and you get so excited you just can't hold it in? Haha, yea that :)

And sometimes it may seem like it's the right guy, like you're gonna land right. Land without that pain you get if you fall straight on your feet and it just kills your ankles. (I actually do that a lot >.< it hurts, lemme just say.)

So after making a leap, and you're flying in mid-air, you guessed what's next. You either land on your own two feet or fall. Sometimes you got the right guy, sometimes you don't. Simple as that right? But you don't realize how bad you can fall. Sometimes you just pick yourself up and don't ever look back, but sometimes you fall hard and it stays with you for the rest of your life.

So like the song says:
"Let's start over, don't be afraid 'cause I won't keep track
Let's climb to the top, If you won't look down, I won't look back ."

He's telling this girl to let go of her past, he won't count anything against her and he's ready to make the jump (with her) if she is.

Yea, It's an awesome song :)

There are some variations on the F Chord and I've found one chart that shows both, side by side. The second page at the top shows both F chords. The first one, I'll symbolize by using a plain, capital F. the second one (which is sort of like a C and an F put together) will be symbolized by a miniscule f.

The other most impotant thing is in the Chorus it says,"[Let's start over] don't be afraid". These I will refer to by numbers. What you'll be doing is using one finger to play a note on the A string, playing on different frets. The number I put down is the fret you will play. You're still strumming all the strings throught out the entire song.
Ok, so now for the chords! :DD

Ukulele Music

You know there's something about the ukulele that calms me. It's just such a pretty sound! And I love the fact that I'm actually making the music myself :) That tops off the cake for me! So in getting my ukulele, I found out that the internet is my best friend... and YouTube of course! With an endless slew of sheet music, chords, tabs and tutorials, I find it simple to find music of my liking. Unfortunately, one of my favorite songs by Needtobreathe, called I Won't Look Back , lacked a tutorial :(

So I decided to change that.

I tinkered with my uke and my chords (the sheet music pictured below), and have successfully found some chords to match up with the song :)
I'm not yet done, but I'll post it when I have found them all and completed the song! I am so very excited! :DD
